May There Always Be Mama

It’s May, and to continue the celebrations of Mother’s Day, we thought we’d share some music and words from the mouths of babes.

This children’s song originated in the former Soviet Union in 1962, and are based on a poem written in 1928 by a four-year-old boy.

The lyrics (more or less…):

Bright blue the sky
Sun shining high
That was the little kid’s picture
Drew it for you
Wrote on it too
So you would know what he drew

May there always be sunshine
May there always be blue skies
May there always be mama
May there always be me!
(Then in Russian)
