How To Volunteer

Your Involvement Means So Much To Us!

Volunteering is a wonderful way to be part of our church and give back to your community. 

 

Here are some ways to connect with and share in sacred service at Unity of the Oaks. If you are interested in becoming involved, contact our office for more information at: Office@UnityoftheOaks.org.

Ambassadors

Welcome our congregants and new visitors as they arrive to Unity of the Oaks.  Assist new visitors in signing up for classes and our mailing list. Assists our Sunday Coordinator with set-up. Online greeters are also needed to interact with our online congregants during the live service.

A Course in Miracles

A weekly study group which takes a deep dive into the teachings of this book with a small group of like-minded individuals.

Bookstore

Help with our sales in our bookstore after the Sunday service.

Serves 1-2 times per month.

Book Club

Our book club meets 4 times a year.  Everyone is invited! Contact Janie so she can tell you the next book selection and meeting date.

Flowers

Share flowers with our congregation for our Sunday morning service. You can also bring flowers for a celebration or to honor a loved one, just contact our office prior to the Sunday you would like to dedicate flowers.

FUNdraising Social Committee 

Help raise money for UOTO with fun events and exciting fundraisers.

Hospitality

Brings and sets out snacks for our fellowship time.  Sets up and cleans up the food area.  Makes coffee and hot water for beverage service.  Usually rotates 1-2x month.

Music Ministry

Provides music for our weekly Sunday services, as well as at special events and concerts held throughout the year. Auditions required.

Prayer Chaplain Ministry

Pray with congregants at our Sunday service and for any prayer requests.  Members receive an email or call from a prayer chaplain. Training required.

Platform Assistant

Be a part of our Sunday Service by informing our congregants of upcoming events. Usually serves 1 x month.

 

Social Action Committee

Help those in our Unity of the Oaks community, and the larger Conejo Valley, as needed. May be asked to help a congregant get to a doctor appointment or bring them groceries or food when homebound. Larger projects usually arise 3-4 times per year. 

Youth & Family Ministry (YFM)

Be an assistant to one of our Sunday teachers, and when you’re comfortable, teach our young congregants.  Ages range from 5 – 18, with childcare available for toddlers.  Must be attending UOTO for a minimum of 6 months and pass state/national background checks. Training available for new teachers/assistants. Serves 1-2 x month.
