Youth & Family

Youth & Family

Program for All Ages (Babies to High School)

Sundays at 10:30 AM

Youth Ministry is very important to us at Unity of the Oaks.  We see our youth – the now generation – as congregants, not solely as children of congregants.  All of our teachers have an established history with Unity of the Oaks, and are required to have background checks in order to teach.  During the year we have fun activities outside of church planned for all ages and families.  Our middle school and high school groups attend regional events and camps throughout the school year.  We also help send our youth in 3rd through 5th grades to the regional Unity Kid’s Camp in Wrightwood, CA, a Southwest Unity summer tradition for generations!

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is the foundation of Unity.

The Unity of the Oaks prayer team is a group of dedicated individuals with a desire to help others. They are trained through Unity Worldwide Ministries how to listen, support, and pray for our congregation both individually and collectively. They feel a deep calling to share their understanding and offer spiritual help through compassionate and confidential communication.

A Prayer Chaplain is someone who can hold spiritual space with you. Each Sunday following services, our Prayer Chaplains listen and pray with you and hold what is heard in confidence. They also contact members monthly to offer prayer support.

Reiki Ministry

The Reiki Ministry is an integral part of the Prayer and Healing Ministry at Unity of the Oaks. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Our Reiki Ministry offers complimentary Seated Reiki treatments on Sundays after service. Speak to Ann Robin for information or to receive Reiki on Sundays after church services.

Service Outreach Ministry

Service Outreach Ministry

Unity of the Oaks puts into action our Fifth Unity Principle: I do my best to live the Truth I know. We are actively assisting our community with outreach programs and support. The outreach committee works hard to serve the needs of our own congregation, as well as, those of the community at large.

Hospitality

Unity of the Oaks is very pleased to be known as a loving and accepting community. We feel like family. Part of the nurturing of our family is creating situations in which we can gather and support each other. So every Sunday Hospitality serves snacks and drinks so we can enjoy and love each other.

Book Club

Unity of the Oaks book group is an informal, welcoming group that is open to it all. It is a chance to come together, share thoughts and experiences relevant to the book discussion, and offers an opportunity to deepen relationships through shared learning. Book selections are chosen by the group at the end of each meeting and include diverse topics of mutual interest. We conveniently meet one Sunday every month shortly after service. We’d love to have you join us at any time.
